Sounds are well balanced in the main monster beats, with a warm mediocre and thumping bass. With some bass heavy headphones the sound can be "muddy" and unclear, but this isn't the truth using the monster beats by dre. The genres that actually benefit are electronic, hard rock, and mid tempo hip-hop, although other genres may also be great for the most part monster headphones. Whether you're into classical music or Heavy Metal the sound quality is excellent at low volumes and really pumping at higher volumes. You'll enjoy any kind of music with these dre headphones.
