Net Millionaires Club

Social Network for Online Marketers

Reposted for New Members:

Wow. This place has grown quicker than we had imagined! The Net Millionaires Club is less than a week old, and by the time you read this, we will be well over 1000 new members!

And now this... A tip to anyone who is new to social networking or marketing on the internet.

Have you ever heard the phrase "You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar?"

Let's put a modern twist on that.... Here at the NMC, we are very fortunate to be surrounded by several like-minded successful marketers. A lot of people have made new friends in a short amount of time, posted great helpful blogs, and created a growing friendly community.

These are all GREAT things.

However, here are the people that aren't making friends: SPAMMERS.

Let's put it this way. If I go to buy a car... and again this is ME... I'm going to talk to the salesperson I can identify with. This is usually the one with a sense of humor, or compliment, or "no BS" attitude.

I'm not going to talk to the "pushy" guy. who hands me his card before he knows my name. That card will end up in the trash can, or on the floor of the car that I just bought from the better salesperson.

I'm definitely not intending to "thow anyone under the bus" so to speak... I just encourage everyone to understand clever marketing versus the robotic, door-to-door-sales mentality.

You will see the results of this in your bank account. ;)

There's my thought for the day.

Again thanks everyone for growing a great network and encouraging each other to be the best.

All the Best,
Cohawk

For all of you who think Cohawk is funny looking because of his hair...
No one does, I just thought I'de work that in somehow :- )

But that was one fine post there pard! I used a quote from you in the
blog post I just put up and was thinking.. hey this guy just told me
I WAS old enough to be his dad... and I'm using YOUR quotes...

Go figure... funny hair cut ( that's twice on the hair cracks ) and
only half my age and I hold you in such high regard as a strong
man with powerful convictions... as I watch you STAND for them,
you're pretty cool bro...

And you're a hero for going without cigarettes for what like 5 days
now?

Them's tough to quit.. but you are powerfully and wonderfully made
and choose to live that birthright so I know you'll do fine...

Just wanted to pay you honor publically... did I mention your hai...

Hey Cohawk....er.....Greg! :) Nice blog, and pretty well straight to the meat of the matter.....I am a salesman, a professional chef, and a singer/songwriter. I hate to see a salesman coming at me, because I know exactly what he has on his mind......trying to convince me to buy whatever his trick-o-the-day is....lol! Man, I can see them coming from a hundred yards. Experience over the years has taught me one thing for sure.......don't start off selling the product.....start off being a friend, and seeing if you can help them them with a need they might have at the time. I just love this site, because it affords the opportunity to mingle, browse, and make some great friends in the meantime........plus, an added bonus of being able to offer your services, whatever they might be, to a global inter-face......outstanding!!!!!!

Thanks for the etiquette blurb, and keep up the great work my friend!

Hi Greg,
You know when I was about to make my first comment on here, I actually skyped my dear friend, Nancy Redford, and asked her if it was appropriate to leave your URL at the end of your comment!! I waited until she answered me before I did it!! Nancy is one of my mentors!! If she says it's ok, then I know it was a proper thing to do!!

I remember seeing comments on another site where people blatantly advertised their wares right on someone else's page! I thought that was horrible and really turned me off to social networking until last week when I joined NMC!!

So, I for one, think this blog is very well written (as you are a gifted writer) and a great lesson for all of us here!! Including moi!!! :) Another job well done by the infamous Cohawk!

Crystal, your addition to this blog is fantastic!! I can see that you are a "teacher" too! Thanks so much for the lesson!! I do hope all 1000+ of us reads this!!

All my best,
Debbie :)

I couldn't agree more Greg.

Etiquette Of Networking Do's and Don't

DO:

1. Invite new friends with a welcome message
2. Create a discussion about you business in a conversational approach (ie. experience with program)
3. Write a blog talking more about yourself to relate common interest among the network members
4. Leave your url in your "signature" of comments, forums, blogs and messages
5. Write a friendly message to your friends, ask a question about them, invite them to chat (aim, yahoo, gtalk)
6. Read and reply to your friends forums and blogs to interact on all levels of the network

Don't:

1. Don't invite a new friend with a message containing an ad or prompting them to visit your website
2. Don't write a discussion that is a Billboard Ad...buy a billboard for that ;)
3. Don't write a blog like your a classified ad writer for the local paper, make it personal and news worthy
4. Don't post a banner as a comment, that's not a comment, although it might start comments "about" you
5. Don't send a message to your friends with the latest program's ad copy, "say good-bye to your little friends!"
6. Don't advertise in your friends blogs, and discussions (unless the topic clearly asks you too)

Ok, now I mentioned leaving your "signature" with your url when posting, this is actually very good
etiquette! We all want to get to know you better and surely we are interested in what you do, but
we don't want advertised too. Properly placing your url in your signature is like giving them a
business card, they'll either call you on it or not.

Example of a signature

Have a great day!
