Social Network for Online Marketers

What does your profile say about you?

If you are new to social networking, please read these tips to transform your profile!

Ok, your NMC profile is like your online office. Your place of business says alot
about who you are. Color, Images and Content is your flashing marquee that tells
people, "You're Open For Business"!

Let's start with your picture. Click on "My Photo" tab and upload a pic as soon as possible.
I don't know about you but when I see a shadow person, I don't feel all warm and fuzzy
inside. If you don't have a photo, use an image (google has lots, just 'save as' in a folder
on your computer and upload it to your profile) You can also send a pic from your cell
phone (look in your settings for that.) Either way, you are making a mental impression
on your visitors and they will begin to remember you by name in other areas of the
network...I call that Branding Yourself!

Add a page title. Beside your pic is a page title. When you put your cursor over it, it will
highlight, click on it and backspace the current text...add a motto, a business name,
your favorite quote or something that represents your business personality.

Change the appearance of your page from the default setting so it stands out. A splash
of color and little bit of design goes a long way. Click on the "Theme" tab under your
pic on your profile. You can choose from the premade templates, adjust to your liking
and you don't have to use html or css. If you know css and html, you can get pretty
creative. ;)

The text box. This is a great feature that really turns your page into it's own. You can
add banners, pictures, videos, text ...just about anything you want to catch the eye
of your visitor to your business and offers.

Did you know: you can move some of your profile boxes? I moved my text box to the
top and my RSS feed to the left. Put your cursor over the profile boxes and you'll see
the little navigate tool, hold your mouse button down and move it around to where you
like.

That's good for now. If you want me to check out your profile when you're done, let me
know. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do!

Smiles,
Crystal

And hey, if you need any help...holler ;)

Hey Crystal,

As always, you are right on with your advice. Something else that occurs to me is the importance of not only customizing your profile and pic, is to settle on a common theme (if you can), so that when people cross over to various sites, they can easily recognize your profile.

Variety is the spice of life, but when you look at the major advertisers, there is no doubt about whose ad it is.

Have a GREAT day,
Warren

And as always, you make an excellent point Warren! Now, to get a woman like me to settle on a theme, hmmmm... LOL! ;)
